Life-saving courses for Sun Resorts teams
So that its teams can maintain optimum safety training, every two years, the Sun Resorts group organises life-saving courses given by a (Life-saving South Africa) instructor. Participants come to Mauritius from five hotels within the Sun Resorts group : Le Touessrok, Long Beach, Sugar Beach, La Pirogue and Ambre. The event is especially intended for teams from sailing club, the mini-club and the recreation centre at each hotel.
A fun approach
Different courses were planned at sea and in the swimming pool and participants could explore and enjoy many of their favourite activities. To stimulate all participants, a competition was organised in Tamarin Bay, with the team from hotels in eastern Mauritius competing against the team from western hotels. The teams were selected for each activity, including Flags, Surf Swim, Beach Sprint, Ironman, Beach Relay, Long Run, Belt Rescue race, Board Rescue, Run swim run and Taplin Relay.
Awarding of certificates at La Pirogue
After the competition, really battling it out, it was the team from the west, including the Hôtel La Pirogue and the Hôtel Sugar Beach, which won ! So it was generally in good spirits that the certificate award ceremony was held at La Pirogue, in the presence of Clency Romeo, the General Manager of La Pirogue, Andrew Slome, the General Manager of the Sugar Beach and Fabio Piccirillo and Yousouf Budullah, CEO and Human Resources Manager at the Sun Resorts group respectively. When you next stay at the 4-star Hôtel La Pirogue, you will be in really good hands as you enjoy the whole range of sporting and leisure activities on offer at this typical Mauritian resort !
