The Bakery World Cup
Created in 1992, the Bakery World Cup is an excellent competition which aims at developing the quality of the bread throughout the world and promoting the baking profession. Each participating country appoints a team of 3 bakers each of them specialized in Bread, Pastry (Viennoiserie) and Artistic Creation. From its beginnings, the Bakery World Cup has kept enriching its panel of participating countries and raising the level of its competitions.
The Louis Lesaffre Cup
In 2003, The Louis Lesaffre Cup gave a new breath to The Bakery World Cup by pre-selection the participating teams. The Bakery World Cup is currently held every four years at the European Trade Show (Paris Nord Villepinte) alternating with The Bakery Masters.
The Louis Lesaffre Cup launches its 4th edition with new challenges and better adapted to current bakery trends. The Louis Lesaffre Cup is today a major event in the circles of bakery. More than a simple contest, The Louis Lesaffre Cup is a real training. It showcases finest talents where participants enjoy true moments of exchange and share a unique professional and human experience ; the selection for the 9 national teams for The Bakery World Cup for Africa/ Mediterranean will be on the 9th to 16th of April at the Baking Center TM Lesaffre Ozmaya, Turkey - Istanbul.
Florian Raymond, “Young Bakery Hopeful”
Florian Raymond, has been working at La Pirogue 4 star resort since 2014 as Second Commis Chef and is representing Mauritius in the “Young Bakery Hopeful” category. He has always been a hard worker and expressed his creativity and art in his daily work at La Pirogue. It has not been his first achievement as he has previously been the winner of the 2014 competition for apprentice bakers organized by “Les Moulins de La Concorde Ltd” as part of the Bread Festival which is organised yearly.
The 4 star Mauritian hotel La Pirogue has always supported and promoted young staff in their endeavors to perform better. We wish Florian all the best for this competition and hope he comes through it with flying colors…
